THE VOICES IN MY HEAD

I’ve made a home for the voices in my head

Forever with me, like a partner in my bed

Experiencing goodness, but still criticizing

Constantly working, never romanticizing.

No, I stand corrected 

I do romanticize

Daydreaming, manifesting

The future in my eyes.

It looks beautiful and light

Childlike fun, so full of delight

No more worries about the future

Oh, how I think about that future!

But for this narrative to be achieved

I have to let go of what I believed

That the voices in my head

Are forever with me; like a partner in my bed.
